Cycle To Work
London-Paris 2011
Team Cobia will be preparing for London-Paris 2012 through a number of challenging training rides organised by the ride captain and cycling sportives.
Starting with a fast 10km time trial, the ride will then continue with an 80km ride through the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire countryside.
The ride will begin with a steady warm-up leading to a 10km time trial course. A fast overlap time trial will then follow - a testing course with some sharp hills and descents. The ride will then take on a steady pace across Beds and Herts, riding for approximately 80km (including a stop for lunch.)
Experience track cycling on a world championship arena.
As well as learning how to ride, sprint and pursuit on an indoor track, there will be timed races and competitions. Experience the thrill of riding on a track where the likes of Bradley Wiggins and Chris Hoy train.
Criterium and team time trials at Hillingdon Race Circuit.
Hillingdon Race Circuit is a purpose built, one mile race track. After a steady warm-up, a criterium of one hour plus five laps will begin. Cycle hard for an hour, working hard to stay in a group and catch break-aways. When the hour is up, it's a full-on race for five laps. Expect a tough time!
After a refreshing lunch, it's on to the team time trial which will include a few practice sessions to help you get used to reading in a team time trial format. After the time trial, the field will be split evenly for a team race.
A hilly ride of approximately 120km, taking on some tough climbs across the Chilterns.
A tough, hilly, ride starting on the edge of the Chilterns and riding through many of the toughest hills in the home counties. Expect long drags and short, steep, efforts. Get ready for the Bison, not once but twice!
A 40km time trial followed by a steady 100km ride.
After a tough series of rides, a handicap time trial will start the day. Expect a varied course - both technical and fast. After you've caught your breath, the main ride will begin and will feature climbs, technical descents and fast flat sections.
